Muriithi-David Kem or m-dot () is a visual artist and engineer based in Longmont, Colorado. His drawing and painting practice centers around exploring the tension between vulnerability and strength. Working in oils, charcoal and mixed media, he creates a hybrid language that feels both refined and emotionally charged.

His name "m-dot" (), borrowed from an engineering shorthand for “mass flow rate”, reflects his pursuit of balance between discipline and instinct (flow). His subjects focus on inner life—vulnerability, fear, aspiration and the quiet tensions that shape human experience. Approaching drawing and painting as tools for reflection, guided by the belief that technical mastery and emotional depth reinforce each other.

Hydrogang Studio — m-dot’s atelier blending classical technique with contemporary inquiry; oils, charcoal, and luminous mixed-media works.

Hydrogang Studio is m-dot’s creative space where classical technique and contemporary inquiry meet, devoted to using skilled craftsmanship to create work that elevates the human experience.
