Muriithi-David Kem, Visual Artist Kenyan-American, b. 1997

Muriithi-David Kem is a visual artist based in Longmont, Colorado. Since beginning his practice in 2016, he has developed a diverse body of work that spans classical drawings and paintings to experimental pop-influenced paintings and photoluminescent mixed-media pieces. His practice is characterized by academic technique—cultivated at the Umbra Academy of Realist Art and informed by his engineering background, combined with spontaneous abstraction and a commitment to exploring light, color, and material innovation.
